“Children use play to work through their experiences and feelings.”
- Jean Piaget
How Does it Work?
Play Therapy taps into the natural way children communicate — through play — to help them build the skills they need to understand and cope with life’s challenges.
In a Play Therapy session, children are free to choose how they’d like to spend their time, leading the session at a pace that feels right for them. The Play Therapy room is designed to encourage exploration and self-expression, offering a variety of creative and play-based activities such as:
- Messy play
- Clay and sensory materials
- Puppets
- Masks and role play
- Sand tray play
- Creative visualisation
- Art and creative expression
- Music
- Therapeutic storytelling
- Dance and movement
This flexible, child-led approach creates a safe space for children to express their thoughts and feelings while building confidence, resilience, and emotional understanding.
